Camp Half-Blood is offered to children ages 6 – 13. Our 2012 co-educational summer camp is seeking talented, enthusiastic instructors and counselors for our literary-themed summer program.
Who Should Apply?
Camp Counselors – minimum of 2 years experience in a Summer Camp environment.
This is a six-week commitment, Monday – Friday commitment: June 24 – Aug 2. Our camp day runs from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm for the campers and 8:00 am – 4:30 pm for staff.
We are looking for instructors and counselors with prior experience with one more more of the following interests and skills:
- Literature, Literacy and Drama
- Theater Arts and/or Fencing
- Journalism, Blogging, Digital Photography and Multimedia Production
Professional references are required. NYS Teaching license, DOH certification and CPR/First are a plus, but not required.

Our traveling camps are based in Prospect Park, and run for from June 24th – August 2nd
Camp Half-Blood, our Greek mythology-based program, immerses the camper in the world of Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief book series as well as other popular traditional Greek and Roman texts. Camp Half-Blood is offered in one-week sessions, each of which pulls its theme from a different storyline. Using storytelling, live action role-play and physically and mentally engaging activities, campers work with their friends to develop new skills, solve problems and create summer memories that will last a lifetime.
